Fish and tadpoles don't go. Most fish think of frog eggs and baby tadpoles as nature's caviar. So if you want a frog friendly environment, keep it fish-free.
Okay, here's a habit I don't readily admit too, but in the interests of raising healthy tadpoles, you should know about it. Tadpoles are seriously into recycling. Even their own body waste. So by all means change their water regularly (about once a week) but don't clean out all the good bits down the bottom, or you might accidentally starve them to death.
