Although it's fun to have lots and lots of tadpoles, you can have too many. (About 2 tadpoles per litre of water is ideal, otherwise they could end up like my poor little cousin Boris: down the throat of a bigger tadpole).
Make sure they have a large open area of surface water, and no less than about 20cm in depth, (to humans, that's knee-deep, knee-deep).
To make it a real home away from home, add some pebbles and clean river sand and a few water plants if you have them. A bit of sun is fine, but remember, we shy, retiring creatures really love our shade.
